I’ve heard many times over the past few months’ people saying “we just need to hang on in there” when talking about the current pandemic. It might be tempting to dismiss those words as simplistic, but this determination to press on isn’t grounded in some vague hope that things might get better, but actually in Christs work in his life. Hanging in there the bible calls perseverance. We persevere because God promised over and over that he is with us, that’ll he’ll give us strength and that he’ll accomplish his purpose in our lives.
If over the past few weeks you have felt that you are just hang on in there, waiting for things to get better and to provide the chance to meet up friends and families again. Your perseverance is slowly and surely starting to be rewarded. We still, I expect, have a distance to go and so take the words from Isaiah 41 vs 10 to help support you – I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. May God continue to help us as we persevere on our journey in life.
Opening the Church
From this week the church building will re-open for Private Prayer only on Thursdays and Sundays. As with everything currently in our lives things will be a little different. The link below will take you to a video that will explain the new guidance for those using the church, please look at it before you visit to help maintain everyone’s safety at this time.
Many thanks to Nick Tooby for working so hard to get the church open again this week for prayer. He has done a magnificent job in preparing the church so that it is clean and safe for all to use.
We are grateful to those who have bravely shared a small insight into their prayer lives as a means of inspiring others to pray. We are looking for anyone who can use a phone to record themselves who is willing to speak briefly about their prayer lives and be honest about the joys and challenges of it. If you would like to find out more, please contact Lesley Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org
Before lockdown we had planned to conduct a survey of the congregation in respect of the Sunday Communion service. This has inevitably been delayed in the light of restrictions placed on worship and meeting together as a result of the Corona Virus pandemic.
We have revised and extended our questionnaire to include questions about the video services currently being made available. It would be helpful for the Leadership Team and PCC if as many as possible could complete the questionnaire. We understand that not everyone will be able to complete the section related to online services but if those people could complete the other parts it would be appreciated.
Your support for this questionnaire will help us to see the way forward for inspiring worship for our church and community, both in the near future and as the restrictions are gradually lifted and we return eventually to meeting together. Worship and meeting together will need continual adjustments in light of Corona virus and all decisions about the future for worship will be in reference to Diocesan guidance and government instructions for Covid19.
If you access the survey from the link below your completed survey will automatically be sent back and the data collated. If you completed the survey by post please return your form to our administrator Julie. They are completed anonymously, and our administrator will delete any reference to email address or names before they are passed to the team looking at responses.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
