Phil Richardson – St Andy’s Church Leader

Phil and Anne Richardson
Phil is the leader of St Andy’s Church, and we are excited to announce will become the new curate of St Andrews from July 2017. This means that Phil will continue as St Andy’s Church leader whilst also performing duties at St Andrews and across the parish.
Phil’s Bio:
Phil grew up in Croydon until the age of 19 when he attended University at Reading studying Sociology. At the end of the first term he became a Christian whilst in Australia, returned to Reading and quickly became involved with the Christian Union on campus as well as the local churches.
In 2004 Phil moved to Coventry and was placed with St John’s Westwood church as a volunteer with Friends International- a Christian charity involved in outreach to international students.
Shortly after arriving in Coventry Phil met Anne and they got to know each other whilst on Form- a discipleship course run at Westwood in 2005. They got engaged and then married in 2007.
Since then Phil and Anne have worked part-time at the University of Warwick and Coventry City Council respectively. They both spent the rest of their time on the staff team at Westwood Church in Coventry running Form, a transformational discipleship gap year for young adults.
Currently Phil is training for ordination in the Church of England part-time at St Mellitus College in London (due to graduate in July 2017).
Phil and Anne live on Bannerbrook Park with their two cats James and Smokie. They like watching films, playing games, takeaway curries and developing community on the estate.
