Young People are an integral and loved part of the life and worship of St. Andrew’s.
St Andrew’s provides a wide variety of opportunities for young people to become involved and enjoy themselves – including occasional events such as the 2012 production of The Nativity in addition to the ongoing groups that we run.

St Andrews hosts a toddler group on Thursday mornings from 9.30-11.30am. All parents and their pre-school children welcome. Toast and a drink served. Fun and fellowship. Cost £1.50 per adult with child and 20p for any additional child. For further info, contact Jess on 07554 996518.
Children’s Church caters for children of 3-11 though there is no firm cut-off age.
Children’s Church meets each week at 10am during term time (except for the first Sunday in the month when the children are in Church for the Family Service). Babies and pre-school children are looked after in our crèche. We are all in for the opening of the service and then the children leave with their teachers for their session in the School, which includes Christian learning, games and craft activities returning for a blessing at the Communion.
We follow a 3-year course of Bible stories, relating them to our daily life, to our caring for God’s world and to justice and peace issues. Activities include drawing, acting, singing, simple models and even bread-making. At the end of the service we present what we have done to the adult congregation who are always very appreciative.
Once a term there is “Open Children’s Church” – an exciting circuit of different activities on a particular theme.
All our teachers are DBS checked, and have regular child protection training.
We welcome new members at any time – just come along for one session or every week.
For further information – please come along on any Sunday at 10am in Church
St Andrews hosts a Pram Service on the second and fourth Tuesday’s of each month, starting at 9.15am and lasting approximately 45 minutes. Refreshments are served beforehand from 8.45am. The service is designed for parents/grandparents and carers with pre-school children. We sing songs, tell stories and take part in craft activities, getting little ones familiar with church from the youngest age. There is also an opportunity to meet others from the area who are at home caring for children. For further information, please contact Greg Smith on 024 7642 2856.
We run a youth drama course regularly on a Monday from 5.45pm – 6.45pm at Jardine Youth Centre. Anyone aged 8-12 is welcome. Check the welcome page for the latest workshops. Please speak to Greg or Selina if you wish to know more.
